A huge team of officers descended on the four star hotel in Wellington Street at around 6.30am on Thursday.
The armed response team raided the hotel and arrested a man in his forties on suspicion of firearms offences from one of the rooms.

Hide AdThey were supported by officers in standard West Yorkshire Police uniform.
The operation was pre-planned and the suspect has been taken into police custody.
A West Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: "Shortly before 6.30am this morning (5/3) armed officers carried out a planned operation at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, in Wellington Street, and arrested a man on suspicion of firearms offences.
"The man, aged in his forties, has been taken into custody and a scene is in place at a room in the hotel to undergo a search."
