"We know many of you have been eager to know whether both the Leeds Half Marathon and the Leeds 10K will be able to take place this year as planned and we'd like to thank you for your patience.
"Over the past few months our team have been busy working alongside Leeds City Council to ensure we can give you the entrant that much longed for finish line feeling this year.
"And so, we are pleased to announce the wait is over and today we can confirm that the Leeds Half Marathon and Leeds 10K will take place in 2021 but on the postponed event date of Sunday 5th September.

The message continues: "We hope by postponing to September, this will also allow you additional time to train across the summer and enjoy training again with friends, running clubs and family as lockdown eases over the coming month.
"We hope you can understand our reasoning for the postponement and we look forward to seeing you all on the start line later this year because like you we have missed that event day feeling."
All Leeds Half marathon and Leeds 10K entries will automatically be transferred to the new event date in September.
E-mails will be sent to entrants two months prior to the event to confirm the event will be going ahead as planned.
