A VIRTUOSO showing from Gary Fellows helped Hanging Heaton book their place in the group final of the ECB National Knockout Cup after a comprehensive seven-wicket triumph over Barnsley.

The Tewits captain showed his prowess with the ball in claiming 3-20 as Barnsley were all out for just 107 – Tom Chippendale taking 3-33.

Just for good measure, ex-Yorkshire player Fellows followed up with a 42-ball unbeaten 53 to secure victory over the Shaw Laners.

He was well supported by Joe Fraser (35) as Heaton sauntered to victory in under 14 overs.

There were wins for Townville and Spen Victoria in the Championship B action on Saturday, which was seriously affected by the weather.

On-song Jack Hughes took a magic 5-7 in an unplayable nine-over stint as Townville defied the weather to secure a big 117-run triumph over Brighouse, skittled out for 48.

High-flying Townville had opened with 165-7, with Hughes top-scoring with 42, well supported by Aussie Matthew Bremner (33).
