The Whites looked the more likely to break the deadlock but Steve Morison was unable to convert from close range. It was the visitors who went in front after that Caddis penalty.
Both sides came close after the break, Morison and Clayton Donaldson’s headers both hitting the woodwork.
With four minutes to go, the home side pushed for an equaliser and got their reward, Sam Byram’s cross was not cleared, only to find it’s way to Luke Murphy who fired home, much to the relief of the Leeds faithful. The draw saw Leeds jump above Rotherham into 20th place and meant that Birmignham were nine points adrift of the play-off places.

Birmingham proved to be too much this time for hosts Leeds United as Gary Rowett’s side maintained their ubeaten record away from home. Demarai Gray took advantage of a fortunate ricochet to fire the Blues in front on the half-hour mark.
Leeds fought back and came close to levelling things up but brilliant keeping from Thomas Kuszczak denied Stuart Dallas. The frustration continued as Cook was denied Leeds’ best chance of the game after being played through with only the keeper to beat.
The visitors sealed the game late on after Jacques Maghoma’s low effort was enough to beat the keeper. The result meant that seven points seperated the two after ten games, with Birmingham in fourth.

Stuart Dallas’ double saw Leeds claim their first win over Birmingham in three league matches. Dallas’ first goal gave the Whites an early advantage in the 11th minute, after he was allowed time to fire a low shot into the bottom left corner.
Leeds started strongly in the second half and were in cruise control when Dallas beat the keeper again, this time from further out. Clayton Donaldson pulled one back three minutes later after Dave Cotteril’s shot.
Diego Fabbrini’s sitter from six yards gave Leeds a nervy last few minutes, as well as Alex Mowatt being sent off for a late tackle. This didn’t overshadow a resilient away performance from leeds, as they shattered Birmingham’s hopes of promotion.

5. Birmingham City 1-3 Leeds United (3rd March 2017 - League)
Chris Wood continued his fine goalscoring form to condemn Birmingham to their third home defeat in four matches. In the 14th minute, Wood took advantage of a mistake to lob the ball cooly over the keeper.
The Blues had chances to level and nearly did from Robert Tesche’s shot which came off the bar with Robert Green stranded. The hosts responded after constant pressure after Gardner’s curling effort, but, not for long.
